Biography & Research:
After receiving his Medical Degree and Master of Science, Dr. Chen obtained his Ph.D. in Physiology at University of North Dakota, USA. For his postdoctoral training, he studied neurodegeneration at University of North Dakota. He is presently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Biomedical Science, at University of North Dakota. Dr. Chen studies physiological role of endolysosome in calcium homeostasis in neurons, and pathological role of endolysosome dysfunction in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease and HIV-1 Associated Neurocognitive disorders.
