B. Research interests
The research activity has been focused on the field of Neuropharmacology and Neuropsychopharmacology, including both basic and applied research. The research has been primarily aimed at deepening the knowledge of the interactions between neurotransmitter systems, receptor heteromers and neurotropic drugs involved in neurodegenerative processes and drug addiction.
Main technical expertise
In vivo microdialysis technique in awake freely-moving animals. In vitro preparations for the measurement of neurotransmitter release (tissue slices, synaptosomes, cell cultures).
