Biography & Research:
Luc Zimmer is currently professor of neuropharmacology at the University of Lyon (Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1), University Hospital of Lyon (Hospices Civils de Lyon) and National Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology (INSTN, Saclay).
He is also director of the CERMEP Imaging Platform and head of the BIORAN team at the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center.
Prof. Zimmer is working in the area of brain molecular imaging, particularly in the field of the serotoninergic neuropharmacology. His research interests include the development of novel PET radiopharmaceuticals for brain diagnostic imaging in neurodegenerative diseases and the use of neuroimaging in neuropsychopharmacology. He published more than 130 articles in international journals of neuroscience and imaging.
His teaching duties are about neuropharmacology and psychopharmacology of CNS drugs and molecular imaging (pharmaceutical and medical degree courses).
