Biography & Research:
I am the TR Johns Professor of Neurology. I am a clinical trialist who has participated in or designed trials (both industry and NIH-funded) in epilepsy, chronobiology, sleep, dementia, and clinical neurophysiology. My main activities center on the interactions between sleep and neurodegeneration and epilepsy. I am an expert in EEG/polysomnography who has trained more than 45 fellows in epilepsy and EEG. I am co-chair of the examination committee for the Neurology clinical neurophysiology boards. I have participated in research policy panels in the NIH and professional societies. I am on the editorial boards of 3 neurology journals (Annals, Epilepsia, Epilepsy Res) and review for numerous journals.
