Biography & Research:
Dr. Musyimi’s research focuses on promoting excellence in community-based mental health research and develops innovative strategies with special attention to older person’s and women’s health. Dr. Musyimi’s prior research on dementia-related stigma research in Kenya contributed to the development of a dementia anti-stigma toolkit for use in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), and led to the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative funded DEM-SKY project that generated the first prevalence estimates of dementia from a sample of over 3,500 older adults in rural Kenya. She is currently a PI on an Alzheimer's Association funded grant that aims at testing the effectiveness of a dementia anti-stigma intervention in rural Kenya.
