Go to the Publication Fee Payment Form
When an article is accepted for publication, authors are required to pay €700/US$800 for a Research Report, Review, Hypothesis, Short Communication, Commentary (unsolicited), and Ethics Review (unsolicited). Publication fees do not apply to invited (solicited) articles, ethics response, book reviews, and letters to the editor.
If the manuscript is accepted, you will be directed to complete the Author Publication Fee Payment form in which you should choose the preferred method of payment and indicate if you want make use of the open access option. Upon receipt of your completed form we will send you the invoice by email. Payment can be made by credit card or bank transfer and should be done immediately to speed up the production and publication processes.
Publication Fee Waivers
A waiver request for the publication fee should be submitted before the initial submission of a paper. Please send your title, abstract, keyword list and author listing including affiliations (and if available ORCID IDs), to the Editor-in-Chief, George Perry (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a cc to the editorial office (email@example.com), along with your motivation for the waiver. Your request will be evaluated. Waivers are available for corresponding authors from low-income countries as identified by the Hinari Project.
There are no waivers given for the open access fee since this is a completely optional fee.
Open Access Option
In addition to the publication fee, the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease offers authors the option to make their article freely available on the Publisher's website. For an additional charge of €1500/US$1700 (CC-BY-NC, the default option) or €2200/US$2500 (CC-BY, mandated by some funding agencies), your article (including pre-publication) will be freely accessible immediately upon publication. Please see https://creativecommons.org/licenses/ for an explanation of the different licensing options.

Institutional Agreements for Open Access
JAD’s publisher IOS Press is setting up agreements to support the open access publishing of research in its journals. These agreements can cover a discount or waiver of open access charges for corresponding authors from affiliated institutions who wish to publish open access in IOS Press’ hybrid and fully open access journals. Currently selected Dutch and Swedish institutions have agreements in place. To check if you are eligible to publish under these models, please see the IOS Press Open Library where any current (and future) agreements are listed.
