This important work provides the opportunity to better characterize new candidate genes associated with Alzheimer's disease risk and to understand their exact role in AD pathophysiology., because some genes are involved in some previously suspected pathways (such as APP and tau in pathology) and others may be involved in new pathways underlying AD.
