This article is very important from the point of view of early diagnosis and application of primary and secondary prevention principles. In fact, effects on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases of genetic risk factors, that are not modifiable, could be mitigated through intervention in “modifiable risk factors” area. Indeed, it may lower the risk of the disease development or at least delay its clinical manifestation, based on the knowledge that assessment and treatment of cardiovascular risk factors in middle age reduce the risk of heart disease and dementia in old age. Genetic testing for multiple cardiovascular risk factors in conjunction with nutrition, cognitive assessment, manage of hypertension, statin therapy in case of hypercholesterolemia and a right lifestyle as physical exercise engagement, may empower patients to take the necessary steps to improve their health and to prevent cerebral amyloid deposition.
