Biography & Research:
Dr. Hongtu Zhu is Professor of Biostatistics and has been the Biostatistics Core Director of the Biomedical Research Imaging center since 2006. He leads the Biostatistics and Imaging Analysis Laboratory (http://www.bios.unc.edu/research/bias). He is internationally recognized as a leading biostatistics researcher in mental health, medical image, psychology, radiology, and neuroscience. Dr. Zhu has published 5 book chapters, 21 conference papers, and 180 journal papers, most of which are in the leading statistical, neuroimaging, neuroscience, and psychiatric journals, including Biometrika, Journal of American Statistical Association (JASA), Journal of Royal Statistical Society- Series B (JRSSB), Biometrics, American Journal of Psychiatry, Archives of General Psychiatry, Biological Psychiatry, Cerebral Cortex, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Human Brain Mapping, NeuroImage, and IEEE Transactions on Medical Image. Dr. Zhu has served/is serving Associate Editor for Biometrics, Annals of Statistics, Statistica Sinica, Neurosurgery, JASA, and Statistics and Its Interface. Dr. Zhu is an Elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. His research program is currently funded by NIMH, National Institute of Aging (NIA), and National Science Foundation (NSF).
