Biography & Research:
Shaohua Wang, Ph.D., is a Chief Physician and Professor at the Department of Endocrinology, affiliated ZhongDa Hospital of Southeast University. He obtained his M.D. in Clinical Medicine from Nanjing Railway Medical College and received his Ph.D. in Internal Medicine from Medical School of Southeast University. He was selected as a Committee member and the Secretary of Jiangsu Microcirculation Society, and also a Committee member of Endocrinology Society and Diabetes Society of Jiangsu Medical Association. Professor Wang has hosted and participated in several research projects, most of which are supported by the National Natural Science Foundation, and published 50 academic papers in Science Citation Index (SCI) or SCI Expanded Database. His research is primarily focused on the basic and clinical study of diabetic associated-cognitive impairment, prevention and treatment strategies of diabetic chronic complications, as well as prevention and early intervention strategies of gestational diabetes mellitus. He is currently working to provide the additional insights into the pathogenesis of T2DM-related cognitive impairment and an early therapeutic strategy to treat dementia.
