Biography & Research:
Dr. Edimansyah Abdin is currently biostatistician at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Singapore. He got his PhD from the Universiti Sains Malaysia and then did a postdoc in the IMH’s research division. Since 2008 he has been involved with the Singapore Mental Health Study, and development and validation of an instrument to measure the positive mental health on Singapore residents. He is currently engaged with the Well-being of the Singapore Elderly (WiSE) study, and the Mind Matters study which provide national estimates of disorders among the elderly and mental health literacy. Dr Abdin’s main research interests include application statistical methods in mental health research, mental health services research, epidemiology, and development and validation of mental health instruments in Singapore.
