Biography & Research:
Dr. Hrabovska is an Associate Professor at Comenius University and the head of the Laboratory of Pharmacoproteomics and Pharmacogenomics at the Toxicological and Anti-doping Centre at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Bratislava, Slovakia. Her major scientific focus is a functional analysis of the cholinergic system in relation to the activities of various forms of cholinesterases and the cholinergic receptors in the brain and periphery. During her scientific carrier, which included many research stays abroad in leading laboratories in the field of the cholinergic system, she has studied cholinesterases and the cholinergic system in broad scope. This includes investigating cholinesterases in hydrolytic processes, adaptation changes to lack of cholinesterases in mouse models, gene therapy of acetylcholinesterase deficient mice and developing an immunization strategy to produce specific and selective antibodies against difficult antigens, particularly cholinesterases.
