Biography & Research:
I have a broad background in neuroscience with specific training and expertise in molecular and cellular biology with emphasis on neurodegenerative disease mechanisms. During my PhD study, I carried out a variety of research on APP processing and intracellular trafficking of several proteins invovled in Alzheimer’s disease and Down’s Syndrome including BACE1, SNX27, GluR1 and NR1. My current research focuses on the neurological function of appoptosin, a pro-apoptotic protein which we recently reported involved in the pathogenesis of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and other tauopathies.
