Biography & Research:
Yenshou Lin, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the Department of Life Science, National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan since 2014. Dr. Lin obtained his Ph.D. in Physiology from Boston University School of Medicine in 2000. He was appointed in the Department of Molecular Biology/Department of Medicine in the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School as a post-doctoral fellow from 2000-2005. He was further promoted to become an instructor in the same institute from 2006-2007. He was also a recipient of the Institute Training Grant from National Institutes of Health, USA. The scopes of his researches mainly cover the signaling pathways regarding of neuronal differentiation from embryonic stem cells as well as muscle metabolism in diabetes. He has established several molecular biology tools/plasmids and a method of differentiating almost uniform glutamatergic neurons from embryonic stem cells. Recently, he extends the researches to the drugs screening/developing for treatment of diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes. Dr. Lin has served as a co-chair in the international conference Drug Discovery & Therapy World Congress held in Boston, USA.
