Biography & Research:
Dr. Taheri received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of New Mexico USA in 2004 during which time he developed special interest in biological systems and in vivo imaging. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in the BRAIN Center at University of New Mexico with special focus on the role of blood-brain barrier (BBB) in neurodegenerative diseases. In 2007, he became Research Assistant Professor at Neurology Department, where he was part of the research team working on vascular cognitive impaierment (VCI). In 2015, he joined the Department of Pharmaceutical sciences at University of South Florida as assistant professor. His special interests and expertise are imaging and modeling Vascular Cognitive Impaierment and Dementia (VCID), Alzheimer’s disease, and the BBB.
