Biography & Research:
Neurologist. Founder and medical director of Fundació ACE.
Research Interest: the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias especially in the genotype and phenotype of common degenerative diseases, biomarkers for biological classification, and the design of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. She has led more than 105 clinical trials since 1996 and currently leading 18 CTs.
From 1996 to 2001 she was an advisor to the Catalan Government for the design of new health models.
Research on legal and bioethical aspects applied to the welfare and protection of people suffering dementia and their caregivers.
She is member of the Executive Committee of the European Alzheimer’s Disease Consortium (EADC) and founder and member of the Scientific Committee of the Mediterranean Alzheimer Alliance (MAA)
Dra. Boada leads several projects funded by Spanish and European governmental institutions: AES, H2020, EFSD, ERA-NET, IMI2, etc.
She is an author of more than 150 articles, 25 book chapters and 12 books of medical outreach.
Among other awards, Dra. Boada was awarded the highest honor conferred by the Catalan Government – the “Creu de Sant Jordi” (Cross of St. George) for her career as a premier scientist in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
