Biography & Research:
Rebecca has a background in both clinical neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience. Her expertise is on analysis, interpretation and clinical applicability of advanced and quantitative MR techniques such as fMRI, ASL, and DTI for early diagnosis of dementia. Through her PhD on advanced MR neuroimaging in presenile dementia, she gained extensive experience with designing and conducting clinical radiological studies with different populations of dementia patients, and multicenter studies. She is used to working in an interdisciplinary clinical environment through close collaboration with the departments involved in the Alzheimer Center Rotterdam. Additionally, she works together closely with the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam (department of radiology and medical Informatics) to bring computer aided diagnosis of dementia to clinical reality, and with the department of neuroepidemiology to connect the clinical imaging research in dementia at the Alzheimer Center Rotterdam with the population neuroimaging research line of the Rotterdam Study.
