Biography & Research:
Professor Ingar Olsen (born 1942) received his dental degree from the Dental Faculty, University of Oslo, 1966. He became trainee in oral surgery in 1970, PhD candidate in pharmacology in 1971, and associate professor in microbiology in 1976. He received his PhD (dr. odont.) from the University of Oslo, 1976 on a thesis based on oral yeast infection. In 1988 he became pro-fessor in microbiology at the Department of Oral Microbiology, University of Oslo. Olsen was head of this department from 1987-1989. He has been visiting scientist to Forsyth Institute (Department of Periodontology, and Department of Molecular Ge-netics), Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Anaerobe Laboratory) and Centraalbureau Voor Schimmelcul-tures, Delft, Holland.
Ingar Olsen is Senior Research Investigator at the Department of Molecular Genetics, Forsyth Institute, Boston.
