Biography & Research:
She is a professor of General Pathology and Immunology at “G.d’Annunzio” University Chieti-Pescara, Italy. She has received Biological Sciences degree from “Alma Mater Studiorum” University of Bologna, Italy and PhD In Experimental Medicine from “La Sapienza”, University of Rome, Italy.
She has authored of 140 peer-reviewed pubblication and 3 book chapter in neuroimmunology, inflammatory diseases and cytokines . Her current research deals with the modulation of non-neuronal anti-inflammatory pathway of cholinergic system in peripheral blood cells. Her current interests include the mechanisms for a7nAChR–based pathways in establishing production of inflammatory cytokines and M1/M2 polarization as well as possible strategies for new therapeutical intervention in inflammatory mediated neurodegenerative diseases. She has many years of experience in research laboratory management and leadership. She enjoy teaching undergraduate and graduate medicine students at G.d’Annunzio” University.
She is referee of 35 National and International Journals, and member of 5 International Editorial Boards, and Guest Editor of 3 peer-review Journal .
She has received funding from italian MIUR, and FISM.
