Biography & Research:
Associate Professor Tarek Bellaj holds a Ph.D. in neuropsychology from Tunis University after a Fulbright scholarship in the psychophysiology lab. at Pennsylvania State University and a training scholarship in the neuropsychology department at Liège University. He has taught neuropsychology at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of Tunis. He has been a Visiting Professor at Angers University in France since 2008. His research interests are in cultural neuropsychology, social neuropsychology and clinical neuropsychology. His work incorporates multiple facets of these axes as applied to memory, executive functions, and emotional dysfunctions in neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders in Arabic culture. Dr. Bellaj has been the President of the Tunisian Psychological Society from 2007 to 2015.
