Biography & Research:
Ilona Hallikainen is a psychologist and a researcher in the Brain Research Unit at the University of Eastern Finland. She has worked as a psychologist since 2006 in several national and international clinical studies related to memory deficits and Alzheimer’s disease. She obtained her PhD in Psychology in the University of Eastern Finland in 2015, and has 20 publications in peer-review journals. She is a member of national professional working groups for geropsychology and Alzheimer’s disease. She has expertise in neuropsychological assessment in clinical drug trials and intervention studies in MCI and Alzheimer's disease as well as in population based cohort studies. Her major research interests at the moment are neuropsychology, neuropsychiatry and functional deficits in the continuum of Alzheimer’s disease.
