Biography & Research:
Fangyu Peng, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Radiology, Director of PET Translational Imaging, Nuclear Medicine Division, Department of Radiology, The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Texas, USA. Dr. Peng graduated from Jiangxi Medical College, China, in 1982 and obtained his Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from University of South Florida, USA, in 1994. He completed his nuclear medicine residency training at University of Connecticut Health Center in 2000, and a clinical fellowship in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging at National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in 2003. Dr. Peng is a physician-scientist who practices clinical nuclear medicine and conducts translational research of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging with focus on molecular imaging of inherited and acquired copper metabolism disorders in Wilson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injury, and cancer with positron emission tomography. Dr. Peng has published more than 40 papers in reputed journals and is serving as a member of editorial board for American Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Chinese Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, and Journal of Radiology and Radiation Therapy in addition to Journal of Alzheimer’s disease.
