Biography & Research:
Hsun-Hsun Lin is Associate Professor of Department of Physiology at Tzu-Chi University. A graduate of Taipei Medical College, Dr. Lin continued her study in Pharmacology and received her master degree in Pharmacology at National Yang-Ming Medical College in Taiwan. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience from Medical College of Ohio (which merged with the University of Toledo in 2003) in 1997 and then came back Taiwan. Since then, she had been in basic medicine faculty at Tzu-Chi College of Technology until 2004. In August 2004, Dr. Lin settled in Tzu-Chi University. She is a recipient of the Excellence in Teaching of Tzu-Chi University in 2010. Her interests include basic medical education, curriculum design and PBL skill improvement. In addition, she still keeps up her enthusiasm for doing research work. Dr. Lin’s current research focuses on central regulation of cardiovascular function. She is also interested in understanding the effects and action mechanisms of neuropeptides on NMDA-induced responses. Methods employed in her studies include whole-cell patch recording, monitoring of blood pressure, pain transmission evaluation, behavior observation, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry and microdialysis / HPLC analysis.
