Biography & Research:
I hold a PhD in Theoretical Medical Sciences from the University of Szeged, Hungary where I have started my journey as a scientist keen to understand the associations between atherosclerosis, cardiac diseases and dementia. I have deepen my knowledge on dementia research later in Karolinska Instituet. My research focus on understanding the mechanism and consequences of the main neuropathological hallmarks of dementia: neuronal loss, aggregated proteins and synaptic dysfunction. The current research interest is focused on improving differential diagnosis and predicting cognitive decline in Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body dementias. Lately I have developed a particular interest in synaptic proteins and their role in dementia progression.
