Biography & Research:
The Christie Lab is actively engaged in brain repair research, with an emphasis on enhancing and utilizing the brains innate capacity for neurogenesis and synaptic plasticity to increase cognitive function in the aging brain. Our work involves extensive testing with preclinical models, as well as jointly developing therapies with patient populations. Our projects include acquired brain injury (trauma, addictions), congenital disorders, and understanding how the process of aging impacts innate brain repair mechanisms.
