Biography & Research:
Karissa is about to complete her PhD, where she has generated, and analysed, a collection of zebrafish models of early-onset familial Alzheimer's disease. She has performed her PhD studies at the University of Adelaide, Australia. The majority of her PhD studies has involved brain transcriptome analysis (via RNA-seq) of her zebrafish models at a young age, to help understand the consequences for mutations similar to that of mutations causative to early-onset familial Alzheimer's disease in humans.
