Biography & Research:
Dr. Pâmela Mello-Carpes is professor at Federal University of Pampa (Unipampa), where act in physiology teaching and research. Dr. Mello-Carpes is the principal investigator of Stress, Memory and Behavior Laboratory and of the Neurochemistry Laboratory. She is the leader of Physiology Research Group and coordinates the Neuroscience Disclosure and Popularization Outreach Program (POPNEURO). Dr. Mello-Carpes is member of Brazilian Physiological Society (SBFis), where she is part of Education Committee, Women in Physiology Committee and Deliberative Council, the Brazilian Neuroscience and Behavior Society (SBNeC), and the American Physiological Society (APS), in which she is part of the Women in Physiology Committee. Between 2010-2021 Dr. Pâmela Mello-Carpes gave lectures, conferences and workshops in national and international congress and symposiums, as: Annual Congress of International Union of Physiological Societies (IUPS), World Congress on Brain, Behavioral and Emotions, Annual Congress of Brazilian Physiological Society SBFis), Annual Congress of Brazilian Society of Neuroscience and Behavior (SBNeC), Annual Meeting of Brazilian Federation of Experimental Biology Societies (FESBE), and others. Actually, Dr. Mello-Carpes is the dean of the Physiological Sciences Graduate Program (Master and PhD) and Neuroscience and Education Specialization course, and, is a Fellow of Science of Learning Program from International Brain Research Organization and International Education Bureau from UNESCO. Her actual research interests include: (i) mechanisms involved in neurobiology of learning and memory, including Alzheimer's models; and (ii) education in physiology.
