Biography & Research:
Yume Imahori is a medical doctor from Japan. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Aging Research Center. Her research will focus on the topic of cardiovascular disease and cognitive aging outcomes using the Swedish National study on Aging and Care in Kungsholmen population study (SNAC-K). She completed her PhD in Epidemiology in 2019 at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her PhD looked at the contribution of adiposity on carotid plaques assessed using ultrasound in Russia and Norway. She also holds an MSc degree in Public Health.
Prior to her doctorate study, she worked as an anesthesiologist for eight years in several Japanese hospitals where she was particularly interested in cardiac anesthesiology and the assessment of cardiac function using transoesophageal echocardiography. She also worked as a safety physician at two pharmaceutical companies.
Yume’s area of research interest is the epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and neurocognitive disorders mainly in high-income countries.
