Biography & Research:
Postdoctoral researcher in the Institute of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, and researcher in the Medical Imaging Computing Laboratory at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Brazil. D.Sc. in Biomedical Gerontology, PUCRS, with a 6 months period at the Faculty of Medicine in Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium. Master in Biomedical Engineering, and bachelor in physics with minor in Medical Physics, PUCRS. Has experience as an intern in the medical physics department of Hospital São Lucas da PUCRS, acting in the radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiotherapy departments. In the Medical Imaging Computing Laboratory, participated in projects related to PET, CT, and MRI images, working with image processing, image quality, dose, and quantification. Her thesis was based on machine learning applications to image processing and classification of brain images in aging and cognitive decline. Currently is working with CNN models to predict a biological marker of age based on brain MRI images.
