Biography & Research:
Neal S. Parikh, M.D., M.S., is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine. Formally trained in vascular neurology and epidemiology, Dr. Parikh also has research interests in aging and dementia, with an eye towards understanding the liver-brain axis, and with a secondary focus on tobacco cessation. His research focuses on 1) the complex interplay between medical conditions and brain health, and 2) stroke and vascular cognitive impairment/dementia epidemiology and prevention. He has published numerous studies demonstrating a link between liver conditions and stroke and cognitive impairment. His work has been published in leading journals such as JAMA Neurology, Neurology, Stroke, European Journal of Neurology, Journal of Alzheimer's Disease, Alzheimer’s & Dementia.
