Biography & Research:
A/Prof Takechi is an NHMRC Dementia Research Leadership Fellow, heading the DiAD (Diabetes-induced Alzheimers Disease) Research Program. Diabetes is reported to significantly increase the risk of dementia, although underlying mechanisms are largely unknown. Through animal model and clinical studies, my research pioneers the nutritional and vascular aspects of DiAD aetiology.
