Biography & Research:
Dr. Liu Tong, PhD, is a distinguished Professor holding the Tianjin Medical University Chair in Cardiology at the Tianjin Medical University. He serves as a Doctoral Supervisor, Director of the Cardiology Department at the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, and is the Director of the Tianjin Institute of Cardiology. Dr. Liu's extensive research is centered on both basic and clinical studies, with a primary focus on atrial fibrillation and cardiac oncology. His expertise lies in cryoablation treatment for atrial fibrillation, as well as clinical diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in patients with tumor-related heart conditions.
Presently, Dr. Liu holds the esteemed position of Vice Chairman of the Third Committee of the Heart Rhythm and Electrocardiography Branch within the China Association for International Exchange of Medical and Healthcare. Additionally, he serves as the Vice Chairman of the Second Committee of the Syncope Branch of the China Geriatrics Health Care Association. Dr. Liu is a standing committee member of both the first and second Integrative Cardiology Branches of the China Anti-Cancer Association, a member of the Heart Pacing and Electrophysiology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and a young committee member of the Cardiovascular Disease Branch of the Chinese Medical Association.
Dr. Liu has been actively engaged in research, having undertaken six projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation. His contributions also extend to the literary realm, where he has assumed the roles of chief editor and main translator for five specialized books.
