Biography & Research:
I have a keen interest in the characterisation of mild and subjective cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia using a wide range of methodologies and techniques to examine the functional integrity of brain functions not normally tested as part of diagnosis and follow-up. My ethos being that the more we know about brain function in these disorders the more we can understand the basis of some of the associated signs and symptoms; why some individuals may have difficulty in noticing changes within their environment and thus in reacting accordingly; why efficient and appropriate information processing may fail and how such changes can influence memory, cognition and perception and thus everyday life.
