Biography & Research:
Catherine Marcinkiewcz, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience and Pharmacology at the University of Iowa. Her research program focuses on deciphering the neurobiological basis of neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders across multiple timescales and levels of analysis by integrating molecular genetic profiling with cutting-edge circuit mapping, electrophysiology and in vivo imaging in transgenic animal models. She is particularly interested in understanding how changes at the molecular and cellular level give rise to large-scale network-level dysfunction.
